After a wonderful dinner experience the night before, I returned for lunch the following day and I had the Cornetto Pizza last weekend at Cantinetta Piero. Not a flat pizza, but a stuffed crescent shape, filled with mozzarella and fontina cheese and prosciutto; served with a side salad of arugula, the size of the pizza and salad is enough for two people. Remember, this is not a flat pizza with tomato sauce.

With pizza, it’s all about the dough and with the help of a wood-fired oven and careful attention to the cooking time, the cornetto was baked completely through, cheese melted and no aspect of the dough undercooked. Cantinetta Piero has delivered two wonderful meals, each simply Italian and with excellent execution.
